Philippine Airline Safety Video Gets Worldwide Attention On Youtube

We live in times where slick commercials and huge budgets are not always the best way to get the message out about your brand or business which is why I wanted to share this video. I won’t ruin the storyline of the video too much but suffice to say that this small airline called Cebu Pacific have been able to punch way above their weight with over 5 million views on Youtube and people like us starting to share the video on our blog…

Apparently the stewardesses don’t do this sort of thing all the time and it was a once off dance and there is little doubt that the shaky camera at the back of the plane is probably one of their own but you have to take your hat off to them on this one. As they say themselves…

“Cebu Pacific has always been known as a fun airline,” said the airline’s vice president for marketing and distribution in an interview with GMANews.TV. “We were looking for something new and different, to show that flight safety doesn’t have to be boring.”

They probably spent some money co-ordinating the video and the girls are probably models but the total cost would be a fraction of any TV commercial they tried to make instead. There will of course be questions fired at them for making fun of something that is meant to be very serious but to be honest that is the first time I have watched the entire safety bit in years and I wasn’t even on a plane! Fair play to them I say!
