Starbucks announces free WiFi at all locations

Starbucks announces free WiFi at all locations: "

Starbucks just tweeted that, starting July 1, there will be free, one-click WiFi at all Starbucks locations.

We’re very excited to announce that coming July 1st: Free. 1 click. No registration WIFI at all US locations! :-)

This came from the official @starbucks Twitter account so either someone hacked them or this is the dog’s honest truth.

Starbucks is officially partnering with Yahoo! on the deal which replaces the current “walled garden” controlled by AT&T. TC has more information on the partnership.

At Wired’s Business Conference in New York City, Starbucks’ Howard Shultz announced that the coffee giant is partnering with Yahoo to offer free WiFi to customers beginning July 1.

Currently, you can connect to AT&T WiFi in Starbucks stores, which is free for two hours if you have a registered Starbucks card. And if you are an AT&T DSL customer, you can access connectivity in coffee shops for free. If not, you have to pay $3.99 for two consecutive hours of Wi-Fi access.
